Many sunset photos of the Watchman have been formerly taken from Canyon Junction Bridge. However, Zion National Park no longer permits photographers to stand on this bridge. The best place to get a similar photo is from Pine Creek Bridge (pedestrian bridge) along the Pa'Rus Trail.
The view of the Watchman from Canyon Junction Bridge was formerly one of the most highly photographed views in Zion National Park. Per Zion National Park regulations, standing on the Canyon Junction Bridge for photographs is not permitted. Your best alternative is Pine Creek Bridge, a pedestrian bridge, along the Pa'Rus Trail.
From the Human History Museum, you park and take a small trail to the Pa'Rus Trail. This trail has several bridges crossing the Virgin River. The Pine Creek Bridge offers up one of the best alternatives to the Canyon Junction Bridge. Be sure to arrive early and start your short hike along the trail as there could be plenty of photographers lined up to get a stunning sunset shot of the Watchman.
Without a doubt, the best time to photograph is at sunset. As the sun sets in the West, you will see the Watchman light up with a golden glow against the red colored sandstone walls. No matter what time of year you’re visiting, you won’t be disappointed by the dynamic scenery of the valley. Be sure to walk down to the Virgin River to explore and find other shots as well. Night photography is also popular at this spot, but not nearly as crowded as sunset. Be sure to bring flashlights or headlamps so it will be easier for other folks to spot you along the trail.

Pine Creek Bridge Reviews
Great spot to catch the sunset but gets crowded. Great view of the Watchmen and the Virgin River. When I was there a deer came up within a few feet and didn't seem scared at all.

This is a spot of amazing view and even if you are not into photography, you should stop and take a moment to grasp the beauty of the landscape. Unfortunately, you wont be alone, as a lot of people stop to enjoy the vista and almost all try to grab a good photo. As such, it may require some patience.

The colors during fall are incredible and the crowds are a bit* more manageable. Offers a good opportunity to capture an alternative perspective.

Beautiful spot for a sunset! Insane views all around, then a sunset to top it off! Can't get much better than this!

Everywhere you look the view is spectacular. Every angle there’s something to capture. Great place to get away. Fresh, clean air. Awesome for hiking as well.
