Camp at Malibu Creek State Park
Agoura Hills, California
Description
Added by Will Cebron
Miles of family friendly hiking, expansive views of the Santa Monica Mountains and a spacious well maintained campground. This site has something for everyone.
Malibu Creek State Park boasts over 8,000 acres of oak woodlands, grassy hills, dramatic peaks and serene meadows. It's an outdoor lover's paradise and only a short drive north from most of Los Angeles. Before it was a park, the land was owned by 20th Century Fox Studios and used in productions like MASH, Planet of the Apes and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
The campground is well-maintained with the more spacious sites on the outer ring. Your reservation won't be site specific, but the rangers will do their best to take requests when you arrive. Each campsite features a picnic table and a fire ring. Unless it has recently rained though, you'll probably be restricted to burning duraflame logs and charcoal. The bathrooms are cleaned every morning and hot showers are available with the purchase of tokens.
The real gem of this campground is it's proximity to a plethora of trails. You can access the Rock Pool, venture further back to Century Lake, stroll up the Grasslands Trail for sunset photos or visit the old MASH site. There are also 15 miles of stream side trails and countless sites for rock climbing.
Reserve your campsite here.

Camp at Malibu Creek State Park Reviews
I love this place. Have been coming here for many years and will continue to do so until I'm either too old to camp or move away from LA. The perfect simple Car Camping weekend getaway.
