Hiking Mt. Finlayson
Langford, British Columbia
Description
Added by Tyson Jerry
Distance: 1.4 mile (2.2km). Perfect day trip for out-of-town guests or trail runners. A great way to see the old-growth forests. Beautiful night photography as well. There is a $3 (CDN) daily parking fee.
Mount Finlayson in Goldstream Provincial Park is 19 km north of Victoria on Hwy 1. The trail takes you up to a scenic lookout of Victoria. For the majority, this trail is quite easy, however, it gets slightly more challenging toward the end when the terrain gets steeper.
Park at Goldstream Provincial Park and cross the bridge to access the trailhead on your right. For the best viewing of the wildflowers and unique ecology of these mountains, try early April.

Hiking Mt. Finlayson Reviews
Under 2km but not easy! Took me about 40 minutes to make it to the top. Beautiful lookout over the golf course with a stunning view of Victoria. My favourite hike to do in this area! The face of the mountain gives you a good challenge with the scramble. Can be very tricky when wet!

Good hike with a nice scramble towards the end. Short but will definitely get the heart going. Great view of Victoria and the Goldstream trestle bridge. Lots of birds so bring the bino's. Definitely recommended.
