Post Oak Falls is an easy, scenic, family-friendly hike in the Charon's Garden portion of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This hike gives epic views of the south side of Elk Mountain. The falls aren't very big, but they create a scenic oasis in the middle of the granite landscape. It's a great place to escape to in the summer, but don't forget NO swimming allowed. Don't forget to try to spot the small cave/mine around the corner!
Park at the Post Oak/Treasure lake Trailhead. Follow one of the well-worn trails north. There are a few trails at the start that eventually wind into each other. After 1/2 mile of going due north up and down some hills and crossing a plateau, look for a small unmarked trail heading east off the main trail. It follows a small creek about 50 yards back to Post Oak Falls. There's a small cave/mine around the corner that is neat. There's also another trail above the falls that continues towards Elk Slabs for rock climbing. NO swimming.

Post Oak Falls Reviews
It was a great hike for me and my dog! I will definitely go again!
5.0
Nice little hike but the falls may or may not be flowing depending on the season and amount of recent rain. We went after a lot of rain and flooding and part of the trail was also flooded, but it meant that the falls were much more prominent that day. Regardless, it is a beautiful trail!
