Close to Seattle, this hike to Gravel Lake offers fantastic views of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Throughout the hike, you are surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks.

Starting at the Snoqualmie Pass PCT trailhead, you start hiking through an old growth forest. This hike has a nice gradual incline with views starting near a talus field. Late June, early July wildflowers are growing like crazy along the trail. This field offers a up close view of Mt. Rainier along with several other mountains in the area.

Kendall Katwalk is the highest point along this point and it offers fantastic. After this narrow stretch, you will start making your way along several avalanche chutes so if there is still snow watch out for avalanches or thin snow in the summer time. Along this stretch you can also make out the faint outline of the very top of Mt. Adams to the southeast of Mt. Rainier.

Once to Gravel lake you have several options, you can either go down to the lake, or enjoy the views from the trail as well as enjoy the smaller Ridge Lake which is less than 100 feet from the trail. This area makes a great lunch spot.
