Fairly large trail system, only minutes from home! A great place to wander the dense forest and feel like you’re far away from the city!
This is an awesome place to escape to for a workout, or just a walk through the forest! You can make it a short walk, or turn it in to 6+ miles of loops! The one main trail is paved, but it’s not hard to find some single dirt track trails branching off and wandering through the trees, it can make for a fun trail run. The park is very well kept, there are bridge-like paths that take you through the marshy areas and let you get a neat perspective on the different habitat within the park. No car? No worries! The max stops directly outside the north border of the park and the trail leads right in! They put on some fun events from time to time so be sure to check out their website to see what is coming up. If you’re looking to introduce some young kids to the outdoors this could be a great place to start. The visitor center is full of great information, and learning about everything that you may find while exploring.
