Fantastic views of the Seven Pools and waterfalls of both Coon Creek and Deadman Creek in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
Hidden Falls Regional Park is tucked way in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, about an hour from Sacramento and a 20 minute drive off Interstate 80 and nearby the town of Auburn.
Most visitors simply make a be-line for Hidden Falls and miss one of the more breathtaking trail loops that the park has to offer, with views over the Seven Pools of Coon Creek and the waterfalls fo Deadman Creek.
Like almost all trails in Hidden Falls, getting to the Seven Pools Loop trail involves heading down the Poppy Trail .9 miles from the Parking Lot, crossing the Deadman Creek Bridge, and then taking the first right onto the Blue Oak Loop trail for .4 miles. This will connect with the Seven Pools Loop & Vista Trail.
Follow the trail 1.5 miles as it leads to the Vista then down into the Coon Creek canyon. Continue to stay to the right till it loops back in and connects with the Turtle Pond Trail. Here you can go right back up out of the canyon to the parking area.
Note: Hidden Falls Regional Park has trails dedicated for hikers/runners and for mountain bikers, so be alert for mountain bikers bombing down the larger trails.
Reservations are required on the weekends and other high use days. Please visit the Placer County website.
