This Morgan Territory Regional Preserve Loop loop shows off the 4,708 acre preserve and is a dog friendly trail.
This regional preserve is perfect for day hikes. There are also designated campsites and even a backpack campsite. Horses and dogs are welcome in the preserve.
There are many different clearly marked trails that one can choose from. A good 4.5 mile loop is to start at the Park Residence entrance. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot there, as well as restrooms. Begin on the Condor Trail. After about 0.7 miles you will turn onto the Volvon Trail which will take you about 1.65 miles through beautiful terrain, including meadows, rolling green hills, and views of canyons. You will then turn onto Stone Corral Trail which will loop you back around for 0.66 miles until you hit Coyote Trail. This trail gets a bit challenging and has some steep parts, but it is beautiful. You will wind down into - and then back up out of - a ravine along a creek under a canopy of trees for about 1.5 miles. The trail will then spit you back out on the Condor Trail which will take you back to the parking lot.
This is a great place to get outside and explore in the East Bay area without driving all the way to the mountains. It's also one of the few places where your dog can roam off leash, as long as you have him under control.

Condor, Volvan, Stone Corral, Coyote Loop Reviews
Great area to hike or mountain bike, I've done both! Best route on bike is to start your loop on the Clyma trail which is across the road from the main parking lot and work clockwise to get back to the parking lot. There's a few options to choose the length of ride. Going in the reverse gives you a serious hill climb workout at the end of your ride.

Lush green hills, blue skies, small yellow flowers and dark trees with no leaves. A perfect hiking and photography spot for this season - Feb/Mar 2016. Check out some of my phone clicks on https://flickr.com/photos/89231063@N00/sets/72157665252417466 The drive to the peak was amazing. The hike is family friendly. Thanks Anna.
