An easy trail that will take you through meadows, a pine forest and ends up at Nevada Beach.
Lam Watah Trail is a 2.2 mile out and back hike, that will take you through Lam Watah meadows and ends at Nevada Beach. I did the hike in December and although the best time to do it is May through October, I think it had more charm during the winter time. The trail head begins from the parking lot and goes through Lam Watah meadows for approximately 1.1 miles where it ends at Nevada Beach. In the summer you'll see a willow-lined pond, flower-covered meadows, a sprightly stream, and stands of pine forest. You'll find several interpretive signs placed alongside the trail provide insights into the natural and human history of the area. Once you reached the Nevada Beach you'll have a nice view of the lake and if you time it right a nice sunset. Dogs are allowed on the trail so long as they are on a leash but they're not allowed on the beach.
