Voted USA Today's Best National Park Hike in 2015, this trail provides "Endless" views of the New River Gorge.
From the Fern Creek Trailhead this is a 2.0 mile out and back hike to Diamond Point. The trail is relatively flat with minimal elevation gain and has a bridge stream crossing. When you arrive at the sign stating "Climber's Access", take a short side trip here to see the views of the gorge.
Continue a bit further to the Diamond Point sign. Here is a good spot to rest before you turn around. Try to spot some white water rafters down in the gorge. If you're up early enough, this is a perfect spot for a sunrise. Once finished taking in the view, retrace your steps from 1.0 miles from Diamond Point to return to your car.
*Note: this hike can also be done as a 2.9 mile loop. To make this hike a loop starting from the Fern Creek Trailhead, walk the 2.4 mile length of the trail, turn left out of the Nuttall Trailhead and walk on the road for 0.5 miles back to your car.
