With an open area at the top for a viewpoint, this hike offers a quick trip to see some amazing 360 views of Snoqualmie Pass and the Central Cascades.
Start off on the extremely rough Forest Service 9070 road. Follow this for just over 4 miles until you see a sign for trail #1348 on the right. There is only enough room for a couple cars at the trailhead.
You start off climbing right away, covering 800 feet of elevation in the first 0.80 miles of switchbacks. You will arrive at a ridgeline. Over the next 0.30 miles, the climb is relatively flat, climbing less than 200 feet in elevation.
The last 0.40 miles wraps you around Mt Catherine, offering views along the way. The climb will finish off the last 300 feet in elevation gain. This last section is also home to the huckleberry plants that provide a nice little snack in the Fall.
The very last section has 2 steep slopes to navigate, only about 15 feet in length, which takes you to the top. The top is pretty open, which offers 360 degree views of the surrounding area. You can also see Mt Stuart in the distance.

Hike Mount Catherine Reviews
The forest service road was a little rough but the trail head was easy to find. Trail conditions were great, only few spots that had puddles and mud. It was a little cloudy but if it was clear, the views of Mt Rainier would have been breathtaking. This hike is perfect to take out of towners or if you want a quick hike.
