Many Pools is an easy, scenic day hike in Zion National Park. Along this off-the-beaten-path hike, you'll cross multiple pools in the slickrock that fill with water.
To get there, drive about .8 miles east of the smaller tunnel on the Zion-Mt. Carmel highway. There will be a place to pull out and park on a large turn. Continue walking down the road about 150 yards east and cross the street before the next turn. There is no marked trail, but there should be a small path that leads down through some trees into the bowl on the other side.
There is no official trail, you just find your way up the wide canyon anyway that you want. During the spring and winter the streams and the pools will be filled with water. During the summer and fall it is more dry, but after a storm there will be streams running down and filling the pools. The canyon is on a slight incline, but it is not too bad.
There will be lots of great photo opportunities, so be sure to bring a camera. There are great views of the red and white canyon walls rising above you as well as some patches of green from the bushes and trees that dot the canyon. There are also some beautiful wildflowers in the spring and summer. The pools offer great reflections of the surrounding mountains. Most of the times I have done this hike, my companions and I have been the only ones there. Overall it is an easy, scenic, and secluded hike.

Many Pools Reviews
We hiked Many Pools in mid-March and it was lovely -- nice views and very quiet compared to a lot of the trails in Zion. We even saw a couple of Bighorn Sheep scaling the rocks around us. Not much water in the pools, but maybe it was just the time of year we were hiking. Easy to get to, and these directions take you right there.
