Greyhound Beach and Greyhound Rock is beautiful with lots of photo opportunities, climbing opportunities, as well as tide pool exploring.
The trailhead is at the Greyhound Rock State Marine Conservation Area which is directly off Highway 1. There is a large paved parking lot with a good amount of trees so finding a shady parking spot isn't that difficult (if that's important to you). The parking lot is located on the beach cliffs high above Greyhound Beach however, so you will have to make a steep trek down to get to it. Luckily the trail is less than a miles, paved, and only has a few stairs towards the very bottom when entering the beach. If you're worried about the elevation gain on the way back, there are about 4 or 5 wooden benches for you to stop and catch your breath on while enjoying the view.
Try and plan for a low tide day. There are lots of tide pools, occasional seals, and two large rock outcroppings that are all easier for you to see and explore when the tide is out. There are places where the water is pretty calm so if the day is warm enough, you might want to bring a swimsuit to jump in. Climbing Greyhound rock is relatively easy and gives you a great view up and down the coast.
There are lots of photo opportunities and lots of areas to explore. In the Summer it can get mildly crowded but in the Fall (even when the weather is still good) you can have the place all to yourself.
There are picnic tables and pit toilets by the parking lot. Beware of the pit toilet's lack of toilet paper.
