Take in incredible views of the Pacific mixed with beautiful forest at Point Lobos' Whalers Cove. Located just off of California Route 1, this adventure feels remote and peaceful.
Point Lobos is one of the hidden gems of the California coast. Located just off of Route 1 right after Monterey, Point Lobos is a state park on the coast. The cost to explore inside is ten dollars, but so worth it.
As you explore, be sure to hike around Whalers Cove, which is incredible at sunset with the ocean spray and lush forests. The ocean vistas, rocky shores, and hiking trails can easily be explored for days. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place to spend the day.

Whalers Cove Loop Reviews
Beautiful, easy to access, can get crowded! Soak in these beautiful views. Take your time, wander down some trails, and then relax on the beach!

Well maintained trails, beautiful scenery. Can get a bit crowded, but still well worth the visit. Bring layers, as the weather on the coast can be very unpredictable.

Beautiful, scenic views on a relatively flat, well-maintained trail to the cove. The trail system is very clearly defined, making it easy to explore other areas. If you're headed there on the weekend, get there early as it can get crowded. If the parking lot is full, you can park on the side of the road just outside of the park.
