Catch a Sunset at Keys View in Joshua Tree NP
Desert Hot Springs, California
Description
Added by Anca Apostoaei
Keys View (previously known as Salton View) is one of the "must see" places in Joshua Tree National Park. Breathtaking views and sunsets.
This is a great place to watch the sunset, perched on the crest of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, provides panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and is well worth the 20-minute drive from Park Boulevard down Keys View Road. The views reach as far south as Salton Sea and on some clear days you can see Mexico's Signal Mountain. Once you've reached the Key Views, you'll have a view of Mt San Jacinto and Mt San Gorgonio, two of the highest in Southern California, and bellow in the valley even the San Andreas Fault. It does get windy up there so dress warmly and enjoy the views.
