Description
Added by Angela Dair
The out-and-back Cascade Lake Trail starts from the Cascade Creek Trailhead off of Norris Canyon Road in Yellowstone National Park. The trail passes through open meadows as you hike to Cascade Lake where wildflowers abound and wildlife is often seen.
You will need a wilderness permit to backpack and camp out here. The hike is relatively short and flat, but you're quickly you are whisked away into the quiet and vast wilderness. The best stars I have ever seen in my life, it literally sparkled!
Keep in mind, there can be very heavy bear traffic. Make sure you use your bear bags and ensure you have bear spray.
