Isolated beachfront camping that is worth the hike. Fires are allowed and you have optional hikes from the beach to explore more.
The distance can vary depending on where you start. It is a 2.5 mile hike from Emerald Bay or 7 mile hike from Two Harbors or you can kayak in.
There are 8 primitive campsites (6 people/ site) which means there is no running water, no supplies...you must pack in everything. The campsites are spread out so even if there are other people there, you most likely won't see them.
At the campsites you will have a BBQ and fire ring, a picnic table, and a chemical toilet. You do have to purchase a locker (and key) when you register, which are at the campsites upon arriving. Inside you will find 2.5 gallons of water and a bundle of firewood. You can learn more here.
You must first check-in at Two Harbors Visitor Services to get a key for your lock box containing wood and water. There is a 10-day maximum stay at all campgrounds. Check in is after 2 pm, Check out is by 11 am.

Camp at Parsons Landing Reviews
The beach is beautiful night and day! We stayed two nights and it was a perfect introduction to backpacking! We hiked in on the West End Road trail from Two Harbors and out on the Trans-Catalina Trail. The hike in was great - ocean breeze, beautiful views and not too difficult. The hike out was much more challenging and hot, but the views were amazing! It was really an accomplishment after! Though, I will say, while it was a hard hike out, I'd rather hike that portion out than in because I prefer hiking up steep grades than down.... But that's probably just personal preference. :)

Beautiful scenery - but watch out for rattlesnakes and stampeding buffalo! :)

The 7-mile hike into Parsons Landing is super easy. This is one of my favorite spots!!!
