Surf at Natural Bridges State Beach
Santa Cruz, California
Description
Added by Austin Brizgys
Natural Bridges provides peeling rights on bigger swells. After your surf, head up to the BBQ area to cook it up.
Natural Bridges is off of West Cliff Drive to the north of popular Santa Cruz break, Steamer Lane. The break is a right point break, which breaks on a rocky shelf and reef. The break is best during sizable swells (NW, SW, and West) and a low tide. Be sure to check the wind, this break gets blown out because it's more exposed than Steamer Lane. Also, bring your booties, the reef is pretty sharp. Keep in mind that it can get pretty crowded here when it's good, so be sure to be respectful while you're out there. If you're hanging out on the beach and preparing for more of a BBQ day, bring your camera and snap a few shots of the state beach's namesake.
For parking, you can park up on the street and hike it in or pay $10 to park in the state beach parking lot. If you're looking to make a day of it, this is a better option for bringing your bbq supplies, etc.
